Here are some of the properties and benefits of Nanolia™ Coatings and Impregnations:
General Characteristics
Water Repellent - repel water due to hydrophobic “skin” effect.
- Our coatings and impregnations have a “high contact angle” which means that droplets of water roll very easily over the surface, taking contaminants with them.
- The higher the contact angle, the lower the surface area of the droplet in contact with the treated surface, rather like the difference between a ball bearing and a bean bag on a sheet of glass.
Scrupulously Clean Surfaces
- At the microscopic level, treated surfaces are so smooth that they are easily cleaned – usually with just water - but also with solvents and other cleaners in the case of our Anti Graffiti products
- Surface is so smooth that dirt and other particles find it difficult to stick depriving bacteria of food. Hence anti-microbial properties without the inclusion of biocides.
Ultra-thin coating
- A little goes a very, very long way!
- Coatings follow the contours of a surface, meaning that they will not make non-slip surfaces slippery.
- Coatings are extremely flexible, will not crack on flexible surfaces.
- Breathing characteristic: Allow moisture - water as vapour - to pass through due to tiny gaps between nano-particles.
- Will not (usually) change the appearance of a surface. (We have some products such as Nanolia Protect that are designed to enhance surface gloss and deepen colour.)

Easy to apply with short drying times and no noxious fumes

Powercoat PRO – for wood, stone, metals and some plastics
- Excellent gloss and long-life properties
- Long lasting “easy-to-clean” final coating

- Protection against UV rays prevents bleaching of surfaces
- “Anti-Graffiti” and “Anti-fingerprinting” finish
- Long lasting protection against corrosion.
- Abrasion resistant
- Stability against condensation and climatic/temperature variations
- Resistance against acid and solvent attack
- No special preparation of the base material required
- High productivity because of extremely thin minimum layer thickness
Wood Prodeck – for wood
- Water-based, ideal for indoor use
- No oil, no paint – no visible change to the treated material
- Water and oil – even red wine- are resisted and cannot be absorbed into the wood
- Reduction of soiling/dirtying of the product with cleaning also made much easier
- Non-toxic and compliant with DIN EN 71 parts 3 and 9 “safety for toys”
- Resistant to seawater, salt spray and acid rain
- Free of silicones, waxes and oils
- Retains “working-properties” for up to 3 years without any rubbing-off
- High coating efficiency due to the very thin required coating application
Glass Clear – for glass and ceramics
- Water, dust and dirt simply pearl-off.
- “Easy-to-clean” effect.
- Soiling is washed off without the use of commercial cleaning products.
- Anti-graffiti effect when used on marble or granite.
- No clouding of the surface or reduction of reflective properties.
- Ice/frost formation can be very easily scraped off.
- Insects can be easily removed.
- Drastically reduced chalky deposits.
- May be used indoors or outdoors.

Powercoat M Series – for stone and metals
- Extremely good protection against corrosion
- (After approx. 2,500 hours of salt-spray testing no changes in the surface were detected)

- No previous preparation or chroming required when used on aluminium
- Resistant to abrasion
- High coverage due to the very thin coating required
Stone Guard – for stone and other absorbent mineral surfaces
- No oil, no paint, no visible change to the treated materials
- Water and oil are resisted and cannot be absorbed
