Restore Aluminium and other surfaces; protect against graffiti and chemical attack

Transparent nanocoating restores aluminium to former glory and protects against graffiti and chemical attack

Nanolia’s PowerCoat PRO is perfect for use on aluminium (whether treated or not) stainless-steel, brass, copper, magnesium, ceramics, GFK glass-fibre and concrete as well as on plaster surfaces, hardwood and mineral bases

Based on the latest research into chemical nanotechnology, Nanolia has announced the availability of a two-part clear coating with amazing properties including exceptional gloss retention and long term weather resistance making it ideal for exterior applications such as street signs and outdoor advertising. Surfaces treated with PowerCoat PRO are more resistant to soiling and are highly resistant to chemical attack and able to be easily cleaned without the use of special chemicals. Dull and tired paintwork, chalky glass-fibre surfaces and cloudy, tired anodised aluminium gleam as new and are restored to their original colours after treatment. Surfaces such as aluminium, brass, copper and chrome acquire long-term protection against corrosion. The coating is ultra thin (approx 5 – 20μm) with cover rate of about 70m² – 100m² per 1kg on non-porous surfaces. Only one coat is required.

Defence against graffiti

PowerCoat PRO is also a good defence against graffiti. Even better though, is NANOLIA GRAFFITI GUARD FOR NON-POROUS SURFACES. Defacement by marker pens is resisted by the surface and can be simply “pearled-off”. More adhesive markings from, for example, car spray paints can be easily removed using AG Removal Liquid or Gel up to 8 times without having to renew the protective layer.

For application to porous concrete or plastered surfaces there's our amzing single-part, water based NANOLIA GRAFFITI GUARD FOR POROUS SURFACES which can be applied directly to porous surfaces. Used on such surfaces a cover rate of 8 - 12 m² per 1kg can be achieved, with only a single coat required.

Properties of Powercoat PRO:

·         Excellent gloss and long-life properties

·         Long lasting “easy-to-clean” final coating

·         Old and bleached surfaces freshen up as new

·         Protection against UV rays prevents bleaching

Case Study - getting tar out of a carpet using Nanolia AG Removal Gel Pro

Just how good a remover is Nanolia AG Removal Gel Pro?

A customer came to us with a problem. Someone had just walked tar over a newly laid carpet. Did we have anything that might remove the tar without damaging the carpet? Based on the fact that tar is oil-based, we suggested he tried – on a small sample – Nanolia AG Removal Gel Pro, which is the product usually recommended for removing graffiti from surfaces that had not previously been treated with our anti-graffiti protection.

What do you think happened?

Well, we were amazed to receive the following email, which looked at first to be a complaint, but we were relieved to find, was in fact very good news:

Hi David

Set aside 30 minutes to have a go at removing tar from a carpet expecting it to be quite difficult to get the tar out of the pile then came across another problem you may be able to help with:

  1. What do i do now with the other 27 minutes left as the tar is removed?
  2. How do I disguise the clean patch as the rest of the new carpet now looks dirty

The Nanolia AG Removal Gel Pro removed the tar in approx 2.5 minutes covering an area of approx 75mm² and has not affected the colour of the carpet.

Now I am going to the client to suggest the whole carpet is protected which is quite a lot of carpet as this is a very large NHS building!

Kind Regards

Ben

So thanks to Ben, we now know that our AG Removal Gel Pro removes tar from carpets, one of the toughest cleaning tasks imaginable. Wow, and thanks Ben!

Can spray painted graffiti be removed from a rough porous surface?

Removing spray-painted graffiti from tarmac is easy with Nanolia

Yes it can, reports Nanolia Sales Manager David Wilkin.

By applying the Nanolia AG Removal Gel to paint on a rough tarmac surface then hosing down with water it was easy to remove spray paint. Unbelievable, it was so easy!! A couple of brush strokes, quick rinse off with water – job done!

Winning the battle against graffiti with the aid of nanotechnology

Winning the battle against graffiti with the aid of nanotechnology

Graffiti is a huge problem

Graffiti presents major issues throughout the world, creating a very expensive problem for property owners everywhere. Graffiti in the form of drawings, scribbles, pictures, messages or tags painted on ancient monuments, buildings, walls, street furniture, telephone boxes, bus shelters, desks and other surfaces can be seen in many areas within the community. Where visible, graffiti has an enormous negative impact on customers and the public with regards to their perception of an area or building which has been defaced.

Responding to the problem Nanolia (www.nanolia.com) , an innovative company working at the forefront of nano-coating technology, is introducing an advanced range of environmentally friendly products for easier-than-usual graffiti removal. Nanolia’s bio-degradable anti-graffiti products have been proven to work on many different surfaces including, metals, concrete, brick, stone, glass, plastic and wood to offer an alternative in the fight against graffiti. The coatings meet all relevant requirements of the German Quality Association Gütegemeinschaft Anti-Graffiti  e.V.

Nanotechnology provides a clear defence against graffiti

Based on the latest research into nano-coating technology, Nanolia Graffiti Guard for Non-porous Surfaces is an ultra thin (approx 5 – 20μm) two-part clear coating with amazing properties including exceptional gloss retention and long term weather resistance making it ideal for exterior applications such as street signs and outdoor advertising. Surfaces treated with Nanolia Powercoat PRO are highly resistant to soiling and chemical attack,  able to be easily cleaned without the use of special chemicals. In addition, Nanolia Powercoat PRO restores dull and tired paintwork, chalky glass-fibre surfaces and cloudy, tired anodised aluminium to their former glory. Treated surfaces gleam as new and are restored to their original colours while most metal surfaces are given the added benefit of long-term protection against corrosion. The coating is ultra-thin and has a high cover rate of about 50m² – 80m² per 1kg on non-porous surfaces. Only one coat is required.

For application to concrete or stone surfaces Nanolia supplies the amazing single-part water based Nanolia Graffiti Guard for Porous Surfaces which can be applied directly to porous surfaces. Free from organic solvents, once dried it forms an invisible, hydrophobic, oleophobic, breathable and weather stable surface resistant to solvents and acidic and alkaline attacks. Paints and coatings cannot penetrate the surface and thus adhere only weakly. It also reduces the growth of algae, lichens and mosses. A cover rate of 8 - 12mtr² per 1kg can be achieved.

Surfaces treated with either product will still “breathe”.

Removal of graffiti after an attack

Applying AG Removal Gel

Surfaces treated with Nanolia’s anti-graffiti coatings and impregnations are relatively easy to clean.  Defacement by marker pens is resisted by the surface and can be simply “pearled-off”.  More adhesive markings such as cellulose spray paints can be easily removed using Nanolia’s AG REMOVAL LIQUID or AG REMOVAL GEL up to 6-8 times without having to renew the protective layer. Nanolia Graffiti Guard for Non-porous Surfaces can withstand over 25 aggressive cleanings. Simply brush the liquid or gel on, leave to penetrate the graffiti and then rinse off with water.

Nanolia’s standard graffiti removers are easy to use, environmentally friendly and biodegradable.  They are specifically designed for the rapid removal of all types of graffiti from surfaces that have been previously treated with Nanolia Graffiti Guard products. The products are available as a liquid for use on non-porous surfaces or gel for use on both porous and non-porous surfaces. Surfaces previously treated with Nanolia Graffiti Guard for Porous Surfaces will still remain porous –so use the gel, while surfaces treated with Nanolia Graffiti Guard for Non-porous Surfaces will be non-porous – use liquid or gel. For vertical surfaces or materials that require a longer dwell time for the remover to take effect, the Gel would be the better choice.

Nanolia even has a remover for surfaces that have not been previously treated with Nanolia’s Anti-graffiti products. Nanolia AG Removal Gel PRO is especially suitable for the removal of graffiti, emulsion paints and latex colours and enables acrylic plaster, acrylic, alkyd, styrene and NC varnishes to be readily removed with water. It can be used to remove multiple coats of paint, adhesive fabric and foam carpet remnants and has even been used to remove tar from carpet pile without removing the colour – one of the most difficult cleaning tasks imaginable!

Spray paints, felt-tip pen and pen pollution as well as car paints and coatings are removed quickly and easily without leaving any residue.

As with all Nanolia’s Anti-graffiti products, Nanolia AG Removal Gel PRO is environmentally friendly, being biodegradable, free of chlorine, hydrocarbons, strong acids or alkalis.
