Welcome to Nanolia information
Nanolia Stone Guard
Especially recommended for use on sandstone, plaster, concrete, fibre concrete or roof tiling, Nanolia Stone Guard is a “breathing” impregnation with a protection against soiling/marking for practically all types of porous or absorbent mineral-based materials. Self-organising anti-adherence particles give the surface an almost invisible coating which is permeable for water vapour but resistant to water, oil and dirt/dust. Soiling or dirt particles do not invade the pores of the base material, and therefore no marks remain. Even in long exposure to water only the surface will absorb damp. Saturation and rotting or fouling of the material is prevented. Drying time, i.e. after rain, is significantly reduced, and the life span of the base material extended. This product may be used either indoors or outdoors.
Nanolia Stone Guard lasts many years, even if the surface beading effect wears off by abrasion. However, we do recommend that the beading effect be renewed every 2 years by a further application.
N.B. For the coating of granite, we recommend the use of Nano-Glass/Ceramic Pro and for Marble we recommend Nanolia Marble
Features at a glance:
•
No oil, no paint, no visible change to the treated materials
• Water and oil are resisted and cannot be absorbed
• Reduction of new soiling/marking – easier to clean
• Non poisonous according to German Regulation DIN EN 71 Parts 3 and 9 “Safety of toys”
• Resistant to acid rain and to seawater
• Free from silicones, waxes and oils
• Water based
• High efficiency owing to thin application coating requirement
• Long term working effect
Product types:
Nanolia Stone Guard is recommended for all surfaces indoors. For extra protection outdoors we recommend Nanolia Stone Protect for outside as this also seals and protects against weathering, water, acid, snow, frost and ice. It also eliminates the effects of salts / calcium leakage
Technical Data:
Co-hydrolised silane, water, ketone and alcohol.
Application:
Always test a small sample to ensure that the desired result is achieved before proceeding with the main project. If in doubt, do not proceed.
Do not dilute. The base material must be dry, clean, and oil or fat free. The working temperature must be above 5°C. Apply by painting or spraying, covering the entire surface. In the case of highly absorbent surfaces a second application is recommended “wet-on-wet”.
Deep penetration of the product ensures a longer life span. Excess product should be removed using a cloth in order to prevent “stickiness”. Adjacent surfaces, glass surfaces or rubber seals, do not need to be masked. The drying time is approx. 2 hours, and after a period of 24 hours the complete effect is achieved. Used application equipment can be cleaned using water. The effectiveness of the product is still intact, even when the “pearling-off” effect at the surface is reduced. An annual refreshing is recommended. The details of application vary greatly, according to the material to be treated. We are therefore happy to give you individual advice.

Depending entirely upon the surface to be treated, and the method used, about 10 - 15m² can be treated with one litre of this product.
