Nanolia Prodeck

Nanolia-Prodeck protects woods against water saturation, swelling and rotting. The “breathing” and practically invisible coating allows water and oils to simply “pearl-off”. Soiling agents/dirt do not get into the wood and therefore there is no marking or flecking. Even in extreme cases of exposure to moisture, the wood absorbs no moisture (it remains on the surface). Therefore the drying period is drastically reduced. The product is able to be used both for indoor and outdoor purposes. Ideal for all untreated, absorbent and pressure- impregnated types of wood.

Nanolia Prodeck AB

Based upon the Nanolia Prodeck, we are able to offer you Nanolia Prodeck AB which is an extended function version. In addition to the water and oil resistant properties, this product has anti-fungus and anti-rotting property by virtue of an additive. A protective coating against the formation of mosses and algae is formed on the treated surface. Furthermore the formation of fungi (in the form of flecking/marking) on the surface is prevented. The lifetime of the nano-treated product is extended and the cleaning of the products is made much easier.

Properties:

•     Resistant to seawater and to a salty atmosphere, resistant also to acid rain

•     Free of silicones, waxes and oils

•     Retains “working-properties” for up to 3 years without any rubbing-off

•     High coating efficiency due to the very thin required coating application

Application:

Always test a small sample to ensure that the desired result is achieved before proceeding with the main project. If in doubt, do not proceed.

Shake the product well. Use undiluted. The surface to be coated must be dry (wood moisture max. 18%) clean and free of fat/oil. Use a roller or brush to apply very thinly, but covering the entire surface. On absorbent surfaces a second coating is recommended “wet-on-wet”. The more the product enters the wood, the more the preservation lifetime is extended. Superfluous coating product can be removed by wiping with a damp cloth in order to prevent any stickiness. Please avoid putting used material back to the original package. Any materials close to, or adjacent to the surface to be treated do not need to be masked (i.e. glass or rubber seals). When applied to light coloured woods the result is a slightly honey-colour. When used Nanolia Prodeck AB there will be a slight darkening of the surface. It is possible that some flecking/marking will appear if there are any traces of oil in the treated wood. Previously treated surfaces may be affected in different ways from the weather, and therefore may have various degrees of porosity. As a result there may be a minimal amount of “shadowing”. It is highly recommended to make a “trial-surface” on the surface type to be treated. The drying time is approx. 2 hours. To maintain the “pearling-off” effect a new coating should be applied yearly. The impregnation is active even if the “pearling-off” effect on the surface is reduced. After weather exposure all products may be overcoated with solvent-based paints.

Please note that the effect of impregnation is very much depending on the kind of wood to be treated. Some special tropical type of woods (e.g. Masseranduba aka Brazilian Redwood) are not able to bond with the impregnation. Details in the application vary depending upon the surface which is to be coated. We are happy to advise you fully in these cases.

Consumption:

Depending entirely upon the surface to be treated, and the method used, about 10 - 15m² can be treated with one litre of this product.

Product Definition / Transport Definition (German regulations):

Not classified as dangerous goods. Conformity with German regulations and Laws RID, ADR, ADNR, IMDG, IATA-DGR.

Availability:

1 litre bottle, 10 litre canister. Other packing forms/sizes are possible after prior consultation with us and according to the transport possibilities/regulations.

Storage:

The product may be stored for at least 12 months in its original packing. Protect from sunlight and temperatures above 40 degrees C. Not affected by frost.

Disposal (German regulations):

Empty packing may be disposed of in the domestic waste. Remaining product must be disposed of according to the local laws and regulations or it must be taken to the community collection point for such materials.
